Privacy Policy

Last updated September 22, 2026

This explains what Rizz Battle collects, what it deliberately does not, and who else touches it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

The short version

  • β€’Your live video is never uploaded to or stored by us. It goes straight to your opponent.
  • β€’If both players choose Consent to recordings, each device may create its own local clip. The clip is not uploaded to Rizz Battle.
  • β€’Your audio recording is never stored. It is transcribed and thrown away.
  • β€’Your line, once transcribed, may appear publicly on the leaderboard.
  • β€’We never store your IP address in a readable form.
  • β€’You can play with no account at all. Nothing below applies to a guest except the line itself.

What we store

If you create an account, we keep the small amount of information needed to give you a rating and a profile:

  • β€’Your email address, used only to sign you in. We do not send marketing email.
  • β€’Your handle, and an avatar image if you set one.
  • β€’Your rating, peak rating, and win/loss/draw record.
  • β€’Your match results β€” who played, who won, and how the rating moved. These are deleted automatically after 90 days.
  • β€’The transcribed text of lines delivered in a battle, capped at 500 characters.
  • β€’Measurements of how you spoke β€” loudness, variation, and how much of your turn was speech β€” which the scoring uses. These are numbers, not audio.

Your lines can be public

This one deserves its own section. When a battle is judged, the text of each line is saved and may appear on the Top Rizz Lines leaderboard on the home page. It is shown truncated to roughly the first four words, and it is never attached to your handle, your email, or your profile.

Even so: treat a line you deliver as something that can be shown publicly. Do not say anything in a battle that you would not want quoted β€” your full name, your school, your phone number, your address, or anyone else's.

Optional battle videos

A battle is recorded only when both players turn on Consent to recordings before the match. A visible REC indicator stays on during capture. Choosing it means both players may download and share the finished clip.

The recording is assembled and stored temporarily on each participating device. Rizz Battle does not receive or store the video file. Leaving the match before results discards the unfinished local recording.

What we never store

  • β€’Video on Rizz Battle servers. Your camera feed travels directly between you and your opponent. When a direct connection cannot be established, an encrypted relay forwards the stream without storing it. An optional mutually agreed battle clip stays on the players’ devices.
  • β€’Audio recordings. Your turn is sent once to our transcription provider to be turned into text, and is not written to our database at any point.
  • β€’Raw IP addresses. To stop abuse we rate-limit by address, but we store only an irreversible cryptographic hash of it, never the address itself.
  • β€’Payment details. Rizz Battle is free and we do not take payments.

Who else processes it

We use a small number of providers to run the service. Each one handles data under its own privacy terms:

  • β€’OpenAI β€” transcribes each turn, screens it for unsafe content, and judges the lines.
  • β€’Supabase β€” stores accounts and match data, and handles sign-in.
  • β€’Vercel β€” hosts the site and provides anonymous traffic analytics.
  • β€’Cloudflare β€” runs matchmaking and the fallback video relay.
  • β€’Google AdSense β€” serves the ads on the site and may set its own cookies.

Cookies

If you sign in, we set a session cookie so you stay signed in. That is the only cookie we set ourselves, and it exists purely to keep you logged in. Removing it signs you out.

Google AdSense sets its own cookies for advertising. You can control that through your Google ad settings.

Age

You must be at least 13 to use Rizz Battle. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will delete it.

Your choices

  • β€’Play as a guest. No account, no email, no rating, nothing stored about you personally.
  • β€’Change your handle at any time from the chip on the home screen.
  • β€’Ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account, by email.
  • β€’Deleting your account removes your profile, rating, and record. Past matches stay as anonymous rows so opponents keep an accurate history, with you no longer attached to them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
